First and Foremost:: OTHER THAN TOILET PAPER, IF YOU HAVEN'T ATE IT OR DRANK IT, THEN DO NOT FLUSH IT! This includes out dated medications, they will kill the bacteria that is in your septic system that is needed for your system to function properly.

When washing laundry, try to wash thru out the week. Do no do all your laundry in one day, trying to do this in one day will result in a flooded system.

Will the lint from the washing machine go into my drain system?

Yes. Lint from washing machine can get in drain system by overuse of the washing machine. This can cause TSS (total suspended solids). There is a filter that can be purchased to stop this from happening.

What is a biomat?

Acutal filter for system, that is in the ground. Soil is your filter.

What can cause biomat to be destroyed?

Grease, bleach, water overuse, such a leaky tiolet.

Septic Cleaning Waiver

As per Virginia Department of Health Regulations:

Page 40, code 12VAC5-610-815. Septic Tank Design, section D, a septic sysem access opening that is excess of 30 inches of soil cover or deeper, an access manhole shall be bought to within 18 inches of the ground surface and shall be provided with a tigh fitting cover. This 24" diameter access port/raiser/manhole with lid is to provide regular maitenance. It is recommended that septic systems be cleaned every 3 to 5 years depending on usage.

Page 40, code 12VAC 5-610-817. Maintenance: Section A, In order to encourage proper maitainance and reduce the likeihood of solids being discharged to an absorption field, all septic tanks shall be designed to allow for routine inspection without being uncovered.

Page 40, code 12VAC 5-610-817. Maintenance: Section B, Inspection Port. An inspection port is a three inch or larger port or structure which allows acess to the septic tank for the purpose of measuring sludge and scum accumulation. The inspection port shall terminate at or above grade and be designed to allow an inspection of sludge buildup in the septic tank. The inspection port shall e constructed of schedule 40 PVC pipe and shall be fitted with a water tight threaded cap. The recommended location of the inspection port shall be in or near the manhole cover on the inlet side of the septic tank away from the inlet tee.

An Inspection port is designed to monitor the condition and sludge level of the septic tank and is not for septic tank cleaning.

You can opt to deny Crowe Septic to perform this procedure for you. This is a visual copy of the agreement, you will recieve this agreement, sign and date as will the technician on your job.

Under this tab, you will find our Lift Pump System O & M Service Agreement so you can look it over before we come out to do your septic for you. Also you will find we are active members of the Virginia Onsite Wastewater Recycling, and National Association of Wastwater Transporter. Our member numbers and information is at the bottom of this agreement.

O & M Service Plan

We now over a Lift Pump System Service. This means that our technicians will provide a Preventative Maintaince Inspection of the equipment and services that we have provided to the homeowner.

Each inspection and service copleted will be followed by a written report to the Association. The inspection report ll describe the operational status of the system. It will also include any recommendations for any preventative maintainance deemed necessary by the inspectors.

This agreement does not assume any reposnibility or obligations which are normally the reponsibilities of the Associtaion Maintainance Department (if applicable) as related to parts or labor. This does not extend to cover any clost that may be associated with any reommendations made under this agreement. Crowe Inc., can only supply parts or labor after the Assocation is notified and has agreed to any addition work to be completed.

Billings for Inspections and servicing shall be made on a net 10 days from date of service.

In the even that Western Virginia Water Assocation should raise the rate of the wastewater dispose fee, the rate for septic tank cleaning will reflect that price increase.

In no even shall Crowe Inc., or their Technicians be responsible fr special consequential damages, including but not limited to, loss of time, injury to person or property or any other consequential damages or incidential or economic loss due to equipment failure or for any other reason whatsoever.

To achieve the best customer satisfaction and understanding here is a yearly maintenance and routine checklist that you can go by as a home owner to keep your tank upgraded until you need to call on Crowe Septic.

Yearly Inspection and Routine Maintenance
Every spetic tank is required by the Virginia Department of Health to have an Inspection Port. This inspection port is used to monitor:
*total fluid level
*Sludge level in the septic holding tank
*thickness of crust layer
*color of the effluent

Lift Pump Systems
Annual Maintanence Check
*Lift pump tank for sludge or hard materials
*Operation of floats
*Control/Electrical panel (clean and service control units)
*Alarm (assure functioning as it should)
*Sludge level in holding tank

ATU --(aeration treatment unit) inspection begins with the same steps listed above. Due to the different design and components, each company has a list of the areas to be inspected. The type of system you have will determine what required inspection.

Once a year an inspection will be performed during this six year maintenance plan. The Homeowner and ATU compnay will be provided with a copy of inspection results. Inspection forms will be kep on file for our records. Upon inspection, should any area require attention, the homeowner will be contacted and made aware of the situation. No work is done until authorized or signed off by the owner.

Septic holding tank will be cleaned every three years. Should sludge testing show high levels of buildup, the homeowner will be notified to recommend earler cleaning. Rate: contract clients recieve a 10% discount on septic tank cleaning and additional services required to bring system to meet VDH code.
Check bacteria and TSS in the effluent, (suspended solids, greases, bleach ansibacterial detergents and strong medication are harmful to the system).

In case an alarm sounds off, go to the main power box and turn off the pump in an attempt to save the pump. If you allow the pump to run, it can burn up. Call us ASAP, the contact number will be placed in each control box. Calls are personally answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We will arrive within 4 hours, at no additional cost, standard rate.
