Crowe, Inc. services a 50 mile radius around Roanoke, Virginia.
Mission Statement
Over the years in the septic business, we have come to realize how little home owners know about their septic systems. We also understand that our future environment and water quality is affected by the lack of proper maintenance of septic systems. Because of this, Crowe, Inc.'s goal is to assist in educating consumers on these matters. We are focusing on teaching customers how their systems operate, how to maintain them and how often to have their septic system cleaned. Such knowledge can help to prevent unnecessary costly repairs, even prolong the life of the septic system. This information will make them aware of how harmful septic leakage is to the safety of our environment.
Crowe, Inc .strives to treat our customers in a manor that we feel we would like to be treated. We will continue to explain what we do, why it is done and move forward with the customers approval. In the past 40 years Crowe has grown by using these same principals and we plan to continue to do our best to achieve customer satisfaction and understanding.
Company History
We are proud to say that our company is the oldest septic cleaning and repair business in the Roanoke area. The business began over 40 years ago by our father, George Crowe driving a 1945 Ford truck in the Hollins area. So of course the company went by the name Hollins Septic. With George's good work ethics and cheerful personality, the increasing demands on the company grew to where his eldest son, Tommy Crowe came on board. They have grown from septic and grease trap cleaning, small repairs to large repairs and new installations.
Over the next couple of years Tommy took over the company changing the name to Crowe Septic Tank. The company continued to grow, hiring more employees and increasing the services offered to our customers. Tommy later moved the company to Roanoke Industrial Center where it continues to operate. As you will see from the following information, we have expanded into a full service company.

Photos of Crowe Septic at Work
The sludge was so thick in the distribution box that the technician could stand a shovel
in it. As you can see it is a tar like substance where there is only to be the waste
water. The holding tank had not been maintained allowing the hard materials to flow over
to the distribution area. The owner had to replace the absorption area.
Septic holding tanks vary in depth. They can range from just inches to several feet deep.
We have located septic tanks as deep as 10 to 13 feet deep. Any septic tank lid that is
anywhere from 30" to 36" from the surface of the ground is required by Health Department
code to have a manhole access port and lid.
Thin wall pipe was used for this output line. It was installed too deep for this type of
line. The pressure of the ground caused the line to collapse, crack open and allowing
roots to grow inside. The line eventually completely stopped up.
When a line is stopped up and the septic tank is deep, it is difficult to use the usual
methods to locate the tank or distribution box. Unfortunately such time require digging
to locate them. In this picture the output line needed to be replaced as well as the
septic tank located.
Once the lid to the septic tank is removed, our technician's can tell you the condition
of the septic tank. This tank is in poor condition. As you can see the septic levels are
too high to the point that waste fluids are up into the output tee, with roots are
growing in the tank.
Roots being pulled out of a distribution box.
What appears to be 2 lines coming into this distribution box are actually roots growing
into the header lines. The prior photo showed the roots that were pulled from this
distribution box that allowed us to see these roots.
